About Remote Places

We’ve been working around the world since 1989, with Remote Places set up in 2004 to provide adventurous travel, mountaineering and remote and hazardous first aid courses. Travel these last few years has been as part of UK Government education consultancies and bucket list adventures and have included many of the countries that sensible people don’t go. But we went, and usually alone.

Now, in 2019, we’ve re-established Remote Places as a source of security information for travellers to a certain range of countries – North Africa, the ‘Stans and the Silk Road countries.
